Our vision
In 2015, the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote sustainable development by 2030. And at Securex, we want to contribute to these SDGs as much as possible. So, how do we approach this? By staying true to our DNA, and by committing to a more sustainable and inclusive society through our daily activities. In addition, we also take numerous additional initiatives.

Our DNA: the social pillar of sustainability
As an employer, service provider and partner in entrepreneurship, a people-oriented approach, sense of responsibility and sustainable business practices are ingrained in our DNA. This is particularly reflected within the social pillar of sustainability.
The social role and added value of our activities should therefore not be underestimated. With our day-to-day operations, we make a difference for thousands of people in our society. Besides a fair and correct wage policy, we also take care of physical and mental well-being. Both for our own staff as well as those of our customers. We value diversity and inclusion and encourage training and development.
Securex Foundation
Besides our day-to-day activities, we at Securex also take many additional initiatives that contribute to a sustainable and inclusive society. This is why we set up the Securex Foundation in 2005. Our mission? To promote inclusive employment and sustainable entrepreneurship within our society. We support projects and organisations that pursue the same goals and share our values. We also encourage the social commitment of our employees by supporting their initiatives in favour of good causes.
Some highlights
Our ecological impact
Our ecological impact is rather limited. As a service provider, we do not operate environmentally harmful production processes or complex international supply chains. Nevertheless, we also want to assume our responsibility ecologically and are committed to creating climate-friendly workplaces and enabling sustainable mobility and IT.
Securex Ghent - a passive office building, on its way towards BREEAM certification
Have you already spotted our Securex office in Ghent? We describe it as a passive building and a gem in terms of sustainability. During design and construction, we took many measures that take into account an optimal water and energy policy. We also carefully chose to use lots of natural daylight, insulation and energy-efficient techniques such as heat exchange with the ground at great depth.
With space for 150 bicycles and charging points for electric vehicles, we are also focusing on alternative mobility. In time, solar panels will additionally be installed on the roof. Besides, a process is currently ongoing to have our building officially recognised with a BREEAM certificate: a certificate for sustainable buildings.
Smart and sustainable mobility
In terms of mobility, our New Way of Working saves a lot of vehicle mileage. Our complete conversion to electric vehicles and initiatives such as the mobility budget are also examples of smart and sustainable mobility. In 2024, we will map our carbon footprint for the first time. This will bring us valuable insights to define concrete targets and draw up action plans to further reduce our CO2 emissions.
